- Delays: During peak order periods, such as holidays or sales events, shipping may be slightly delayed. If your order is significantly delayed, we will contact you directly.
To ensure a smooth ordering process, we encourage customers to email support@thedesignerindex.com to confirm stock availability, especially for time-sensitive orders. Not all items are in stock and ready to ship.

White Glove Delivery
Our premium White Glove Delivery ensures a seamless, hassle-free experience for furniture orders:

Removal of all packaging materials
Fee: $350 flat rate, calculated at checkout. An additional $150 surcharge applies to expanded delivery zones. Smaller furniture pieces may ship via parcel instead.
Important Notes:
- White glove delivery does not include the removal of existing furniture.
- Please ensure the space is prepared for your new items before delivery, as the delivery team will not move non-The Designer Index furniture.
Furniture Deliveries
Before purchasing furniture, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure the item will fit in the desired space.
- Measure carefully: Include entryways, staircases, doorways, and access points.
- The Designer Index is not liable for furniture that cannot fit or be delivered due to size constraints.
Delivery Details:
- Furniture deliveries are typically scheduled Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM. In rural areas, delivery windows may vary based on routes.
- For most furniture and oversized items, white glove delivery includes placement in the preferred room and packaging removal.
Customer Responsibility:
- All items must be inspected upon delivery. The bill of lading serves as confirmation that you have inspected and approved the order.
- If damage is noted, it must be documented on the bill of lading to assist with claims and replacements. Failure to do so may result in the rejection of claims.
Free Shipping
The Designer Index offers complimentary shipping on orders exceeding $250 with code FREESHIP, with the following exclusions:
- All furniture
- White glove delivery, which is subject to the $350 fee detailed above. Excluding smaller furniture pieces that can be shipped via small parcel.
Additional Details:
- Shipping charges are calculated and displayed during checkout.
- Delivery delays may occur due to unforeseen factors like weather, holidays, or other circumstances.

We aim to ensure your complete satisfaction with every purchase. Please carefully review our return policy below, categorized by product type.
General Guidelines for Returns:
- Return Window: Returns must be initiated within 30 days of receiving the item (unless specified otherwise).
- Original Packaging: All returns must be in their original packaging and free of damage, stains, or flaws.
- Return Shipping: Customers are responsible for all return shipping fees. We can provide return packaging for certain categories (see details below).
- Final Inspection: Refunds will be processed only after the item passes a final inspection upon receipt. Refunds will be credited to the original form of payment.
- Non-Returnable Items: Certain items are custom-made and are therefore non-returnable (see category-specific details below).

Non-Returnable Items
- Upholstery & Casegoods: Non-returnable due to custom manufacturing.
- Custom Drapery & Hardware: Non-returnable due to custom manufacturing.
- Custom Rugs: Non-returnable as they are custom-made to order.
- Artwork: Non-returnable as framing is custom-made to order.
- Pillows: Non-returnable as framing is custom-made to order.
Returnable Items (with Restocking Fees)
- Lighting: 30-day return window. A 25% restocking fee applies, and customers are responsible for return shipping.
- Wallcovering: 30-day return window. Must be unopened and in original packaging. A 25% restocking fee applies, and customers are responsible for return shipping.
- Decorative Accents: 30-day return window (only for items that are not discontinued). A 25% restocking fee applies, and customers are responsible for return shipping.
- Bath Accessories & Frames: 30-day return window. A 25% restocking fee applies, and customers are responsible for return shipping. Items must be in original packaging.
- Mirrors: 30-day return window. A 25% restocking fee applies, and customers are responsible for return shipping. Items must be in original packaging.
- Hand Towels, Candles & Matches: 30-day return window. A 25% restocking fee applies, and customers are responsible for return shipping.
Rugs: 30-day return window. A 15% restocking fee applies, and the item must have no furniture marks. If the original packaging is unavailable, we will resend packaging at no additional cost.
Damaged or Defective Items: If an item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us immediately for assistance at claims@thedesignerindex.com. In such cases, we will cover the return shipping fees and ensure a replacement, onsite repair or refund is issued.
Discontinued Items: Discontinued items are final sale and cannot be returned.
